Aegina Island...
We also visited the Temple of Aphaia. Built in the 5th century BC, is considered as the finest archaeological monument of the Saronic Gulf and the Aegean. The Temple is the best preserved of any to be found on the Greek islands (has 25 of the original 32 columns still standing).
According to the info I've found, the sanctuary was initially dedicated to the cult of Aphaia, and is at the same distance from the Acropolis of Athens and from the Temple of Poseidon in Sounium, meaning that together they form an imaginary equilateral triangle. :)
... on the way home (the one that still doesn't exist)
we had to be patient... I took refuge in the sun...
Back in Athens, Zé (couldn't be more portuguese than Joãozinho), arriving from adventures in Thessaloniki, bought us dinner and offered us a pleasant, although salty, return evening. ευχαριστώ!
